When the Walls Come Crumbling Down

In The Movies: Capitalism’s Little Tramp

During the Bob Dylan concert here in Lubbock, John Mellencamp sang ‘"When the walls come tumbling down."  Do you remember how that notion got started in the USA?  Let’s see, no it was not on 9/11 but insidiously it was at the gas pump.  Gasoline Price History    Boy we really got the shaft.  That is when they sprung the trap.  Everyone was about two pay checks away from trouble back then when the cost of energy raised it’s ugly head and crunch, we were just another dead skunk in the middle of the road, stinking to high heaven.  But see the ground work for all of that started back in the last century. The Census On The Bush Years  Our industrial base had been eroding and moving away and with a negative balance of trade for decades, the situation was requiring a serious propping up of the US economy as a whole. United States Balance of Trade The bright idea was to make the cost of money for buying homes cheap, unrealistically cheap, you could now buy more home than realistically you could afford. Real estate bubble – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia That "idea" would keep the people employed and the GDP growing, but alas, it was on the back of the poor debtor and his future they were deliberately placing the burden. Mortgage (ARM) Indexes: Prime Rate: Historical Data Then here comes the taxman saying your home is worth more than it is and now all of a sudden you realize; you don’t own your home but rent it from the government. Property tax – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Then surprise, your payments are going up, and then your credit card fees shot up while at the same time the government was loaning money for next to nothing.  frontline: secret history of the credit card: eight things a … This is where I have to ask, "Are these people Americans or the enemy?"  After nine eleven the wolves were at the door and it was war both at home and overseas.
You don’t think Karma  just gave us a little visit?  Look at New Orleans ((New Orleans four years after Katrina | Marketplace From American …)) and look ((  4 Different Looks at Job Losses During Recessions | FlowingData )) at the millions of Americans loosing their jobs (( historical unemployment rate chart )) and homes; (( More than a million homes in foreclosure in latest report – Jun. 5 … )) now that is pretty damn violent as far as I am concerned!  Almost as violent as the one million three hundred thousand women, children and men, civilians; that we have slaughtered, by the way of our tax dollars, in Iraq.  All in the name of and through the declaration of lies, over something that those innocent people had nothing to do with nor control over.  The lambs of the land are still being slaughtered.  I remember when the press asked Bush if he thought this new war would have any impact on the cost of fuel. His repily was "not appreciably".  Then they tried to tell us that when you look at the value of the dollar relevant to the past cost of fuel, the situation was stable and there was no recession. "Those arrogant bastards." US Government Spending As Percent Of GDP in United States 1903 …
Americans pay your dues, the time has come.  Get real, get angry, get real angry.  Its time to take our lives and fortunes back, for if we fail to do so, it will not be gold that we should invest in but Petroleum Jelly instead .   It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds. — Samuel Adams

Since its inception in 1913, the Federal Reserve has helped to devalue our dollar by 95%. During the recent economic crisis, it has poured trillions of dollars into the economy with no oversight, made secret agreements with foreign banks and governments, and has refused to tell Congress who is getting the money or to give it the details of what deals are being made.

Friedman, an author, country music singer and humorist who finished fourth with 12.4 percent of the vote in 2006 as an independent candidate for governor, earlier this month announced his plans to seek the Democratic nomination….

Friedman described his platform focusing on education, insurance reform and a justice reform policy inspired by the imprisonment of a wrongfully convicted Lubbock man who died in prison.

Friedman said he would create the Timothy Cole Commission to establish guilt or innocence in honor of Cole, who was convicted of a rape he did not commit in 1986 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Cole died of an asthma attack in 1999 while in prison, but was posthumously exonerated by a state judge earlier this year after DNA evidence cleared his name.

As part of Friedman’s Cole initiative, the candidate said he would ask for DNA tests of all Texas inmates on death row.  By Adam D. Mr. Richardson’s capital murder conviction in Lubbock County was set aside in 2002 by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Prosecutors were accused of failing to disclose the existence of a diary kept by a former Lubbock police officer that would have provided powerful impeachment evidence against the state’s only eyewitness. The court noted that the witness’s credibility was "fatally impeached by her ever-increasing number of self-admitted perjurious statements" and that, had the diary been available to defense attorneys, her "credibility would have not only been impeached, but severely undermined."
